Northend United 2 Lower Maze 2 Saturday 22nd February 2025

This week the team played Maze 2012 in a tight and bobbly pitch at the Glenmore Lisburn.

The team started off brightly with the midfield of Adrian, Finn, Odhran and Joseph battling hard and trying to create chances for Keane and Alfie upfront. The back four of Iona, Philip, Shane and Charlie were being well marshalled by Corey in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances. In a good first half goals from Odhran allowed them to have a 2-1 lead. Half time 2-1

The second half we started a lot brighter going at Lower Mazes defence but the only goal of the half came for Lower Maze via a Northend player. Full time 2-2

Northend United 4 Lisdrum Youth 1 Saturday 15th February 2015

This week the team played Lisdrum in a tight and bobbly pitch at the Leisure Centre in what was a repeat of the recent Cup Final.

The team started off brightly with the midfield of Adrian, Cillian, Odhran and Joseph battling hard and trying to create chances for Keane and Alfie upfront. The back four of Iona, Eoghan, Shane and Charlie were being well marshalled by Corey in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances. In a first half of very few chances it was Lisdrum who would take the lead after a corner was converted. Half time 0-1

The second half we started a lot brighter going at Lisdrums defence with the introduction of Dylan into midfield. The hard work paid off with goals from Odhran (2), Dylan and Adrian to round off a good team performance. Full time 4-1

Northend United 2 Lower Maze 0 Saturday 8th February 2025

This week the team played Lower Maze in a tight and bobbly pitch at Glenmore in the first round of the Cup.

The team started off brightly with the midfield of Finn, Cillian, Dylan and Joseph battling hard and trying to create chances for Odhran and Alfie upfront. The back four of Iona, Eoghan, Shane and Charlie were being well marshalled by Corey in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances. In a first half of very few chances Cillian thought he had scored only to be ruled out by the referee. Half time 0-0

The second half we started a lot brighter going at the Lower Maze 2012 defence with the introduction of Adrian and Keane. The hard work paid off when a thunderbolt from Odhran rattled off the crossbar and Finn was on hand to finish. The second followed soon after when a corner caused havoc in the box and Eoghan finished from close range. Full time 2-0

Northend United 1 Ballymacash Rangers 0 Saturday 18th January 2025

This week the played Ballymacash in a tight and bobbly pitch at Lisburn Leisure Centre

The team started off brightly with the midfield of Finn, Cillian, Dylan and Joseph battling hard and trying to create chances for Keane and Alfie upfront. The back four of Iona, Eoghan, Shane and Charlie were being well marshalled by Corey in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances. In a first half of very few chances it was Ballymacash who would have the best chance from the penalty spot put a wonderful save from Corey kept it at 0-0. Half time 0-0

The second half we started a lot brighter going at the Ballymacash 2012 defence with the introduction of Philip and Odhran. This hard work paid off when Finn ran onto a pass and finished smartly into the roof of the net. More chances came and gone but the second goal wouldn’t come. Full time 1-0

Northend United 0 Lisdrum Colts 1 Lisburn League Cup Final Saturday 10th January 2025

This week the team got the opportunity to play at the impressive Bluebell Stadium in Lisburn. In a big occasion for the team and club it was a Cup Final v Lisdrum Colts 2012.

The team started off brightly with the midfield of Finn, Alfie, Dylan and Joseph battling hard and trying to create chances for Odhran and Adrian upfront. The back four of Iona, Eoghan, Shane and Charlie were being well marshalled by Corey in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances. In a game of very few chances it was Lisdrum Colts 2012 who would take the lead after confusion on the left hand side a shot in the box was parried by Corey leaving the Lisdrum Colts 2012 striker with a tap in. This would turn out to be their only chance of the game. Half time 0 -1

The second half we started a lot brighter going at the Lisdrum Colts 2012 defence but they were content with the 1-0 and all chances where cleared meaning we started to build again from the back. With the introduction of Keane, Philip and Cillian we pushed for the equaliser. Dylan had thought he equalised late on but a tight decision from the linesman ruled it offside. Unfortunately, the equaliser wouldn’t come despite the efforts of the players’ and it was Lisdrum Colts 2012 who took the Cup home. Full time 0-1
